ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is largely influenced by classical ballet. As an artist, I enjoy the athleticism that is involved in performing movement as well as the musicality. I often look to explore the extremes of my movement. Other dancers that are able to push past what was previously thought possible inspire my work. When I dance, I like to play with the idea that the music can challenge my movement by pushing me to add flourishes that reflect the music.
